1. Who can participate in the contest?
   Students from secondary schools within Abuja are eligible to participate.
2. How many students can participate from each school?
   Each school can submit a team of minimum 3 and maximum 5 students.
3. What is the main focus of the contest?
   The contest challenges students to creatively upcycle waste materials into useful or artistic items, promoting sustainability and innovation.
4. What are the prizes?

1st Prize: ₦500,000

2nd Prize: ₦350,000

3rd Prize: ₦250,000

5. Is there a deadline for submission?
Yes. All entries must be submitted on or before the 6th of June 2025. Late submissions will not be accepted.

Judging Criteria

Entries will be evaluated based on the following key criteria:

Functionality
Is the upcycled product useful and practical? Does it serve a clear purpose?

Creativity
How original and innovative is the idea? Is it a fresh concept or a creative twist on something familiar?

Sustainability

Does the project promote Environmental sustainability?  Are the materials Reused or Repurposed in an eco-friendly way?

Presentation
How well is the final product presented? Is it neat, well-documented, and visually appealing?

How to Apply

Form a team of 3 to 5 students from your school.

Get your school’s approval and support for participation.

Download the application form from our website or Instagram bio.

Fill out the form completely, ensuring all team members are listed.

a confirmation email with further instructions will be sent to you ones the form is completed.

How to Submit Your Upcycling Project

Document your project process through pictures and videos.

Prepare a brief description (max 200 words) explaining your idea, the materials used, and the impact of your project.

Submit your final project via email to Yohesorupcycling@gmail.com. and also on Instagram @Yohesorofficial

Shortlisted schools will be contacted and invited for the final physical exhibition and prize-giving ceremony.
